Synopsis

This workshop series is intended for Pilates Instructors. We're very excited to have Moses Urbano join us at East Bay Pilates in November! Faye has hosted Moses in the past at her former studio, Bayside Pilates, and his workshops have always been well-loved. This workshop in November coincides with the one-year anniversary of Faye becoming the owner of East Bay Pilates!

Along with Moses, our studio owner, Faye Stevenson, and Tom Oksner, another two highly experienced instructors whow were certified by Romana, will be presenting. You can read more about the presenters below.

Presenters

Moses Urbano

Moses Urbano is a world-renowned Pilates Instructor who works with private clients, other Pilates teachers, celebrities and professional athletes since completing his certification in 1999 under the direction of Romana Kryzanowska at The Pilates Studio of New York. His passion is to share his journey in Pilates and support Pilates instructors around the world.

Tom Oksner

Tom Oksner is a graduate of Romana’s Pilates and has spent many years of personal practice with first generation teacher Jay Grimes, and continues to study with master instructors like Cynthia Shipley, Moses Urbano, Trish Garland and others.

Faye Stevenson

Faye has been helping clients overcome pain through Pilates for eighteen years; She received her certification from Romana Kryzanowska in 2006. Faye has made it her mission to share with the world how Pilates can enable a healthy, active life for clients whose pain was previously debilitating.

Friday 11/1/2019:
  • 3:30 - 5:30pm: Instructor workout and round table

This is a special edition of our monthly Instructor Roundtable.  We will workout from 3:30-4:30 with Moses and Tom present to offer assistance as needed.  From 4:30-5:30 we will “talk shop” with Faye facilitating a conversation in which every person has something relevant and valuable to contribute.

Saturday 11/2/2019:
  • 8:30 – 11:30am: Instructor solos with Moses and Tom
  • 11:30am – 1:00pm: Lunch break
  • 1pm –2pm: Constructing the Body Part 1, led by Tom

Tom will share his investigations of the details involved in setting the body up for specific Pilates exercises and movements.  When it comes to getting the most out of every movement, perfecting the set up is key to success and a great skill for instructors.

  • 2pm – 3pm: Finding The True Core Part 1, led by Faye

Faye will share how to recognize the common core imbalances that clients exhibit. We'll go over the Pre-Pilates, Pilates Mat, and Small Barrel exercises that demand True Core integrity to be fully realized.

  • 3pm – 5pm: The Footwork Connection Part 1, led by Moses

The Footwork is our Powerhouse Connection — Join Moses to feel the how to Maximize your Core Connection by optimizing the position of the feet by placing them in a more parallel position.  We assess on the Mat and immediately take it over to The Reformer, You Really Wanna Feel this!!

Sunday 11/3/2019:

The Footwork Connection is your alignment in the Pilates System —Join Moses on the discovery of other ways to access your Core from the Footwork Position we feel from the day before.  Lets feel the work on as much Pilates Equipment as we can.
